I’ve stored my database connections in the server repository, however when I attempt to access the repository on a different machine (same user, same project, same space), I get an unauthorized error. What should I take a look at to further narrow down the problem?
Hi Bryan,
Can you please provide more details:
- Are attempting to access the repository from EasyMorph Desktop or somehow else?
- Where exactly to do see the error, can you provide a screenshot?
What’s the authentication mechanism in the Development space - password or AD? If password, make sure it’s entered correctly. If AD, make sure the Windows account in the new machine is added to the access list in the space settings.
Also, try browsing files in that space using the new File Manager - if it also can’t access the space’s Public folder, then authentication is misconfigured.
Both machines are signed in with the same AD credentials and space is tied to AD. If I browser for a file on the server on the machine that cannot see the repo, it shows unauthorized as well.
Hi @Bryan_Smith
I am trying to investigate this issue.
Please confirm that all these statements are valid. Or add some notes if not.
- You’re logged in on both PC under the same AD account.
- You’re running EasyMorph Desktop under the same AD account. Mean you don’t use run as another user.
- You’re using the same version of EasyMorph Desktop on both PC.
- Both desktops lead to the same EasyMorph Server.
- EasyMorph Desktop1 works well with connectors in the space ‘Development’.
- EasyMorph Desktop2 can’t access the connectors in the space ‘Development’.
- EasyMorph Desktop2 can access other resources in the space ‘Development’, e.g., publish a project into the space ‘Development’.
- You’ve tried to restart EasyMorph Desktop2, and this didn’t help.
What EasyMorph Desktop and EasyMorph Server versions are you using?
Could you send EasyMorph Desktop 2 debug log to the support email?
1 - Yes
2 - Yes
3 - Yes
4 - Yes
5 - Yes
6 - Correct
7 - It appears desktop 2 can’t access the connectors, files or publish
8 - Yes restarted the service as well as the entire machine.
I did some additional troubleshooting and desktop2 cannot access any of our three spaces.
What is the support email address, I’m more than happy to send the logs over.
Desktop Version 5.5.06
Server Version 5.5.0
The support email address is support@easymorph.com . See here how to find the debug logs: Diagnostic information to provide with support requests
The main reasons why the desktop can’t connect to the server space.
- AD user/group has no access to the space.
- The PC or Server is not a domain joined.
- AD server is unreachable.
- The Windows-integrated authentication is not working correctly.
- The server configuration bans NTLM/Negotiate for some reason.
Have you tried to access the space Development
via Chrome/Edge browser?
You should be able to seamlessly sign in by choosing a space without providing a password.
Both desktops allow for logging in via Edge however I have enter my creds.
