💡 Version 6 is here!

:warning: :warning: :warning: IMPORTANT! Version 6 is NOT for production environments. It's a public BETA. Do not install it on production servers or update your existing business-critical EasyMorph Server installations to v6 yet. For deployment in production, wait for version 6.0.1 to be released in mid-May.

The wait is over! Version 6 is here, ready for exploration, testing and evaluation. You can download it from our website, the "All downloads" page.

:notebook: Release Notes v.6.0

Given the broad scale of changes, we’re releasing version 6 as a non-production version, effectively a pubic beta intended for evaluation, testing, and collecting feedback. Don’t use it in production environments yet. In about 1 month after its release, we will be releasing a production-ready version 6.0.1 that will contain cumulative bugfixes and a few minor new features. Meanwhile, version 6.0 will be updated every few days, so if something in it didn’t work or was missing, try updating it later.

If you would like to test and evaluate the new version, we recommend making a separate installation of EasyMorph (not next to your production system) and requesting a trial key by sending the digital signature to sales@easymorph.com as explained here: How to get the product signature | EasyMorph

While version 6 is mostly stable (we have already switched some of our internal servers to v6) and has been in active internal testing for several weeks, it still has mostly minor bugs and issues here and there. Also, some of the advertised new features are not yet activated and will appear over the next few days, as we will keep updating the application every day or two.

It's a VERY big release, with many many deep changes and improvements. We've decided to release it publicly and continue polishing while listening to your feedback.

Your feedback, criticism (and praise ) is very welcome! Please share it in the Beta lounge (if you have access to it) or in this thread.

Great news! The wait is over, I’m installing Desktop right away. Congrats to the team

Hello Dmitry, is there a full release note of v6? I searched on official site but didn’t found anything

Hi @AndreaM, release notes will be added a little bit later.

I've added a link to Release Notes to the opening post.

Also, Release Notes are available as always in the release history on the Download page.

Great news! Just an observation. When I tried another beta, the provided version had the option to choose the destination folder for installation. This was very useful because this way I could use to test the beta in the development environment without affecting 5.9 development installations. Now that's a little risky.

Hi!

Unfortunately, that's not easy with V6 Hub, since the Server (now Hub) migrates the config & data that usually resides in Program Data, and that migration is strictly one-way.

There is also a migration of repo.sqlite files, which contain all connectors and they are usually stored in the Server's Program Data, so that's problematic as well, certificate management has also been changed etc etc.

Realistically, trying out the V6 Beta server requcires a separate machine.
