I just was testing out the explorer/boards functionality. I see the Explorer tab, but the boards says I don't have permissions. My login is a server admin, I don't see what I need to do to enable the creation of a board?

you need to go in "Spaces"
then click on the space (Default, I think)
then "User & Permissions"
Click on the role of your user (under the "User roles" section)
Enable the checkbox "Create static assets and boards" under "Explorer permissions"

Yes, every space feature (Boards, Tasks, Files, etc.) has its own set of permissions configured in the user roles of the respective space.
