Hi Shaheed,
Do you see EasyMorph replacing certain cloud applications? Let’s say I have a simple CRUD app like tracking contract dates for the various vendors that we have.
Yes, we envision that Explorer will be able to replace simple cloud/custom/internal CRUD apps as well as absorb simple use scenarios for more complex apps, for instance, when people only need to obtain a customer number or a customer invoice from Salesforce.
It will also absorb simple use scenarios for BI dashboards as it eliminates the need to build a whole dashboard with its semantic models, abstractions, layouts, etc., just to have a table downloaded to Excel.
Would you consider using Google Sheets or even a dset to store the info and interact with it via the board?
Explorer can work with many 3rd party data stores, such as SharePoint Lists, Airtable, Google Sheets, Microsoft Dataverse, databases, etc. So it's up to you to select where to store data.
We start experimenting with Baserow, which is an on-premises alternative to Airtable and SharePoint lists.
In the long term, we would like to introduce EasyBase, a web-based data editor for database tables, also an on-premises alternative to SharePoint lists or Airtable.
How do you see EasyMorph fitting in the landscape of automation tools that includes Zapier and N8N?
I see them in different segments depending on connectivity/complexity. Zapier has very broad connectivity, but it's not suitable for complex workflows and/or workflows that process lots of data. EasyMorph has fewer connectivity options, but allows designing much more complex workflows and automation scenarios and processing rather large volumes of data. N8N is somewhere in between, probably closer to Zapier.
I have an active Zapier subscription and sometimes I get confused as to where to build an automation.
That's a good question. As I see it, many cloud or self-hosted tools started evolving into platforms with similar capabilities - data editing, triggers, workflows, and custom apps. They start from different ends, e.g. Zapier started from simple workflows but added data editing, while Airtable/Baserow started from data editing and added workflows. However, they all move towards a similar vision, and therefore, we will see more and more overlapping functionality in different platforms. It's indeed confusing.
