License leasing when switching environments, EM Desktop 5.8.2.16

Hi,

The context is : we use EM Desktop 5.8.2, 2 environments = pre prod (no user license) and prod (user license). Only Active Directory login. Option "Lease from Easymorph Server" activated below.

  1. Remove all license cache in %LOCALAPPDATA%\EasyMorph\LicenseKey and configure a server link to pre prod. Warning message at the top right corner : you don't have a license. That's totally normal in the context : no license is assigned to the user.

  2. Switch to prod server link : the license is not automatically assigned. This is for me a first issue because when you switch to an environment where license is ok, the license should be assigned automatically. Proof : after switching to prod environment, If I close easymorph and open again, license is assigned, everything is fine. I think it's just that in the code to switch environments, it's missing the license management.

  3. in the case 2. the first reaction is to click on setup license key. Then click retry to reassign the license. it's working but strange : the due date is 2 days after although usually the due date is one year after (the max expiration date of all licenses).

  4. Then go back to the start menu. New issue : the warning message is still visible on the top right corner although the retry was ok, as if there were no license acquired. I guess the problem is similar to 2.

I think there are several things not working here. Each time there is a workaround : close and reopen Easymorph.

Hi Romain,

2 - It's by design. We don't expect users to manually delete the cached license key, so in most cases, the last successfully leased license will continue to work.

3 - It's a bug. The fix will be released with the next EasyMorph version.

4 - It's a bug which is already fixed in the latest release (5.9.1).
