Feature Idea: Select Selected (Toggle Selected)

Hi there,

I have a feature idea for actions where columns are selected for filter/(keep/remove) from a table. What about a toggle to select the selected items?

Here is a sample use case: some tables/views are very large e.g. SAP tables sometimes contain hundreds of columns, and when doing BA work I often find myself needing to pore through what is actually valuable in a table. Sometimes I need to filter/include/exclude but then need to make corrections. The list of columns can get very large and it can be tedious to scroll through to figure out what you have selected from the whole. This can especially be the case where there are abstracted column names or aliases from different languages etc. (SAP base column names are in German MATNR/ZZDEVI etc.)

The toggle would just be a secondary filter that reduces the columns that show up in the window to just the items that have the box checked.

We're actually already working on this. In version 6, we're improving working with lists of columns and lists of column values (e.g. in filters). Here is what the column selector will look like:

It will be possible to show only selected, or only not selected, invert selection, and even paste a list of column names to select.
