Today you have to choose : file repo or server repo ? What if EM Desktop could propose the union of both ? Well you may have issues about connector duplicate names but I’m sure you would find a way to deal with that (like forbidding it).
So there would be 3 options : File repo, Server repo, both File and Server repo ! Well in the case you choose both, it’s obvious that you would not be able to task the project. A message would indicate that.

For me to understand better your suggestion - why do you think this would be helpful? What problem would it solve?
It’s a matter of organisation. The IT team in charge of the server may only provide support on part of all possible connectors, or they may have delays to provide a new connector. However life goes on and a business team would like to use another connector not yet available, or never available on the server.
For individual needs, you can use project connectors. For temporary needs, or special needs, you want to use the share folder not to bother IT, but you also want to use the other official connectors provided on the server.
