Difference between Email component on server and Desktop

Hi,

There is a email component on EM-server (the “Mail” tab) and als in Desktop.
What’s the difference between the two ?

For which purposes should we use one over the other?

The “Mail” tab in Server configures email notifications for failed Server tasks. Read the Admin Guide for more details.

Desktop doesn’t have this functionality.
