The Microsoft Exchange Online connector now supports the Microsoft Graph API. Exchange Web Service (EWS), previously used by the connector, will be discontinued by Microsoft in October 2026. New Exchange Online connectors will use the Graph API right away; existing connectors need to be reauthorized somewhere before that date. Also, the connector no longer supports Windows authentication.
Here are the steps to (re)authorize a Microsoft Exchange Online connector:
- Try to reauthorize the connector with your credentials. It should fail on the first attempt. This step is required to add the required app to App registrations on your Microsoft tenant
- Grant the required permissions to the required app:
- Open App registrations on your Microsoft Azure portal.
- Switch to “All applications”.
- Find the app registration, named “EasyMorph for Exchange Online”.
- Click on “Manage” in the left menu and choose “API permissions”.
- Click on “Add a permission”.
- Choose “Microsoft Graph”, then “Delegated permissions”, and choose one or all of the following permissions depending on how you plan to use your Exchange Online connectors:
- User.Read
- Mail.ReadWrite
- Mail.Send
- Mail.ReadWrite.Shared
- Mail.Send.Shared
- Click on the “Add permissions” button.
- Depending on your level of privilege in Microsoft Entra and the configuration of your Microsoft tenant, you might need to ask your tenant administrator to add these permissions and/or grant admin consent.
- When the new permissions are added and admin consent is granted, go back to EasyMorph and (re)authorize the connector with the required access scopes.
