# Error When Exporting to Excel

I encountered the following error when trying to export to Excel. How can I trouble shoot and determine where the error/data issue is located in my source file?

Try using the ["Sanitize text" action](https://help.easymorph.com/doku.php?id=transformations:sanitize) to remove system characters from the text fields in your dataset before exporting to Excel.
